Remove tiles
Lift curved or flat tiles at each hook position to expose the wood rafter beneath.
Mark & drill
Mark rafter centerline. Pre-drill pilot holes. Apply waterproof sealant before driving the included 5/16"×3" SS screws.
Set hook height
Choose 9, 18, or 27mm height step based on tile profile. Tighten the adjustment bolt firmly.
Replace tiles
Slide tiles back around the hook arm. Minimal or no tile cutting needed in most Spanish tile profiles.
Attach rail
Insert AL6005-T5 mounting rail into the hook slot. Connect rail sections with rail splices (Part B). Level and torque.
Install panels
Place solar panels on rails. Secure with mid clamps (Part D) between panels, end clamps (Part E) at array edges.
Final inspection
Check all fastener torques, rail level, panel alignment. Confirm weatherproofing at each hook penetration point.

A bottom mount hook anchors to the roof rafter below the tile and extends up through tile gaps, keeping the rail close to the roof plane with minimal tile cutting. A side mount attaches to the rafter side and projects outward. Bottom mount is preferred for Spanish and flat tile because it distributes load evenly and produces a lower-profile installation.
In most cases, no. The slim 6mm hook arm passes between or through natural gaps in Spanish and flat tiles. For tight profiles, a small notch may be needed — but the narrow arm minimizes this significantly compared to thicker brackets.
